“Rinnovo means "renewal" in Italian, which is fitting because it represents my second career. Every time we change our roles, whether it's a promotion or a move to a different company, we have the opportunity to renew or reinvent ourselves.
Rinnovo was founded to allow me to pursue work that I am passionate about, which is people, leadership and problem-solving. Although I love fashion, I leave my handbag habit elsewhere!
I am Lucy Crowther, the founder and managing director of Rinnovo. I am fortunate to have spent my entire career working for big, successful businesses that are well-known brands, such as Tesco, Barclays Bank, TUI Travel, Argos and Card Factory. I started my career as a management trainee at Tesco, and it took me a while to realize that my passion lay in people management. Along the way, I have worked in commercial, marketing, project management and recruitment roles before settling into generalist HR roles.
My final job was as the director of learning at the British Retail Consortium, the UK's largest retail trade association, where I built and ran a commercial training business for retail leaders.
Reflecting on my career, I realise that there were times when I could have used additional support, particularly in my first HR director role. But when I looked, there wasn’t anything that really did what I needed.
Now, I have the unique opportunity to put my business in that new space, where coaching, mentoring, consultancy and teaching intersect. To support new and developing HR/people directors to get further, quicker than they would alone!
I will be working with a network of trusted partners and associates that make up the Rinnovo ecosystem so that I can always deliver for my clients, no matter what challenges they face.”
